wow I soo wish we had left to come this way earlier, what a drive down. we had only come this way so that we could go to Sea world, but it is so much nicer and prettier than around LA.
Seaworld was a little pricey to get in, but it was worth it as we had a brill day. the weather wasn't the best it was a bit grey and cold, but seaworld was packed. first stop we went to see the whales. All the posters and the souveniors are for a whale called Sharmu, but in the show there are 3 whales?? The film they show u first shows a young boy who is intrested in whales and carves himself a 'whale tail' necklace then the doors open and an older man comes out (with the necklace on) and jumps in the water with the whales. They get the whales to do some amazing tricks like chuck the man in the air, and slide across the side of the tank. we then get taught a chant and a bit of a dance - put one arm in the air then the other join the thumbs together (like a whale tail) and make a splashing motion (twice) whilst shouting Sharmu Sharmu. As soon as you do this the whale starts flapping his tail and soaking (and i mean soaking) everyone sat in the blue seats labelled "splash zone" i'm glad we didn't sit there! it was hysterical watching the kids drowning in about a ton of whale water! me and pete couldn't get the chant out of our heads for about a week!
