Most of the first day was taken up by travelling. Not very fun travelling at that. It's starting to become a pattern I know. This time it was because the waves were 4-5metres high and we were on a Catamaran intermitently (ie stopped off at an island) for the best part of 4hours. We were advised to take sea sickness tablets which I did even though I have never got sea sickeness before. And even though I didn't throw up I still felt sick and there was alot of people that did.
The evening wasn't that special, just relaxed and I had the most amazing dinner that I have had so far! BBQ'd shrimp and beef and corn on the cob and jacket portato! Yum Yum!
Finally on Friday the sun was shining! Me and a girl Chelsey went to investigate doing our padi first thing in the moring and really liked the course that our hotel offered and they all seamed really nice so we booked onto it to start in the afternoon. This meant the morning was free to study and sunbathe. The first Padi session however was so boring and consisited of watching boring dvds, several that I fell asleep watching. It was also my last evening with Candy for a while and the rest of my group so a fairwell dinner that was actually pizza was in aid of. Most of them went off to watch the Thai boxing match but be actually being sensible decided that as I had a long day the next day and still needed to finish my homework that I should go back.
The next day the heavens opened again! I felt sorry for everyone that only had the morning left on the Island. I spent the morning going through my homework, having to do more quizzes and given more homework to do. Oh the joy! After saying my final fairwells at lunchtime which was really sad as it always is, it was time for our confined water dive. We got all geared up. We had to do a swim and floating test first before we got into the water properly. It was so much fun I really loved it and generally couldn't wait to get into the sea!
The morning of my third padi day was spent watching yet another dvd, more quizzes, more homework checking and a final exam. All of which I passed. After lunch even though the weather was not fantastic we went out for our first two dives. Now here is where it all went wrong. I couldn't equalise past 3.8m, we tried for a bout 40mins before we had to call it a day! Gutted! Especially as when I could see the fish I really wanted to explore. Poor Chelsey's luck didn't go much better as she panicked. So we both failed. Both couldn't do our next two dive and lost alot of money. We have referalls so that we can try again somewhere else proving we have passed parts of the course. Oh well I suppose that's life.
