After more than 24hours of travelling by plane and then all day long on the Baz Bus which I caught from Johannesburg I finally arrived in Swaziland. I was absoloutely exhausted but I still managed to make myself some dinner and struggled to stay awake untill 8.30pm where I finally gave up and went to bed.
My first full day in Swaziland and it seemed that everyone was checking out of my hostel. It wasn't the nicest hostel by far and I contemplated changing but then desiced that it was a bit too much effort for just the sake of it. I did managed to spend the day with this American brother and sister that were staying at the hostel and went to the Cultural village to se how they traditionally lived and also saw some of their traditional dances which were absoloutely amazing! I have some videos that I can bore people with later! Hehe! The rest of the day we chilled out and went to the Craft market close to the hostel and I went to investigate what else there was to do in Swaziland as I had untill Sunday there which was when the next Baz Bus was due. There did end up being more people that arrived at the hostel so I wasn't completely alone.
My second day in Swaziland I decided to tgo to there game reserve, it only has small animals so you can easily walk around without fearing that you'll be eaten by a big cat, although there was crocodiles. On my way to get the combi I got a bit confused on where to catch it from and asked this English guy that was staying at another hostel if he knew and he ended up joining me for the nature reserve. Unfortunately the combi didn't take us all the way to the reserve and we had to walk 3km just to get there which was ok especially as this meant that we ended up seeing this whole troop of traditional warriors comming back from 'weeding' something that is part of a traditional ceremony in January. This was pretty cool especially as it wasn't at all staged! When we finally arrived in the nature park we had to walk another 3.5km just to get the walking map to walk around the park. Needless to say I did a hell of alot of walking today! It was pretty cool though I got see so much wildlife! A good way to start my Africa travells. Walking back though was extremely tireing but I managed it! And then went for a well deserved beer before returning to my hostel for dinner.
I had one last day in Swaziland and I was struggling to think of things to do. I made my way to the National Museum and then to the Kings Memorial park but this only took up my morning. So I spent the rest of the day updating my journal untill I ran out of space. Need to get another one now : S and I think that is pretty much it for Swaziland.
