So I arrived at Stellenbosch fairly late at night but that wasn't really a problem especially as in the morning I had the wine tasting tour to look forward to : D
I have to say it was alot of fun. I had a good group of people on the tour and there was 8 of us in total. We set off at 10.30am and had a celler tour at the first Vineyard or wine farm as they like to call them. Then we set down to the wine tasting. We were firstly taught how to do this ie, colour, smell and taste. It wss interesting but I don't any of us were experts by any means at the end. Our second wine farm there was also cheese tasting to accompany the wine which was also very nice and then we had just about enough time for one more before lunch. I was really suppried at how well we fed and had another free glass of wine included! At this point I think you could imagine I was feeling a little but tipsy and didn't manage to finish that particular glass.
So onwards we went to our final two wine farms. The second to last had the most amazing scenery! It was beautifull! The wine was also pretty good but I was starting to have a little bit of troube determining what was and wasn't good anymore. And then our final wine farm was the second oldest in Stellenbosch and was also set in really nice grounds.
We arrived back at the hostel at about 5.30pm and for some reason I had managed to practically sobre up which was a little bit strange. I had planned on finishing my food ie. pasta for dinner but I wanted to be sociable and the people on my tour were all going out for dinner togther so I combined both and put my pasta in a tupperware pot and went with them and I had a really nice evening to finish off a really nice day.
