I'll strat this journal blog by describing how horrific my day long journey was from Thailand down to here.
I woke up at 5am because I was leaving at 6am and I felt awfull, I wasn't sure if it was a delayed hangover or something worse but it felt like I had a temperature. I felt achey, like I was going to be sick (which is not good when your about to get on a 3hr ferry) and I wasn't hungry and couldn't manage much of the pineapple that I'd bought myself. The first part of my journey I was doing was with Kim so it wasn't so bad. I took two sea sickness tablets just to make sure, although luckily it was the steadiest ferry ride I've had. We then had to catch a bus to Suret Thani which is where Kim and I departed. She got on a lovely big bus and I got into a cramped mini van. The driver kept moving me around the mini van untill I stayed in the front. I slept most of the way buit was aware the whole way about my temperature and worried that the boarder might have a temperature check. Luckily for me they didn't. What did make me laugh was that as soon as we eventually crossed the boarder the heavens opened. I finally arrived in Penang and my hostel at 10.30pm so it was a very long day.
I woke the next day and was still not feeling great. I forced the free breakfast down me as I hadn't eaten much the previous day and then forced myself out and walked around the town getting my bearings and taking in the sights for about 2hrs before I got back to the hostel, threw up and went to bed. Eventually feeling like death at 4pm I decided that if I was at home I would have already been to the doctor so I dragged myself to the reception, crying asking for a doctor. Luckily going out the back entrance it was just next door, he was just about to shut but saw me straright away, he was very kind. He said I had an extremely high fever but didn't say what it was, checked me over and told me it was food poisoning. I've since put this down to the burger I had in Ko Phangan. He gave me a small ton of drugs that he only charged my 40RM for (about 8pounds). I then spent the next few days confined to my dorm, feeling like death and getting extremely homesick.
Finally on Sunday I ventured out again. I had met this amazing couple who we retired that just now spend their lives travelling the previous evening. They are such a facinating couple full of stories. So they looked after me for the day. We all got tired around the same time which was funny. I ventured out agin on my own later on and did a good semaritan thing and helped a girl find an atm and show her where we were and where she wanted to go. We grabbed something to eat (yes I was eating) I only had eggs though. Then I just chilled out in the evening.
