Zvi Josef's Travels
Well, after an "interesting" evening yesterday, when we realized the lowest temperature on our room's a/c is 27 degrees (!!!), and after a rather dull dinner, we woke up to a beautiful morning in Nanjing, had breakfast at Club Sofitel and went to the business center to purchase train tickets to Shanghai for tomorrow (38$ for a 1st class ticket - 301 Km in 75 minutes - pretty good).
We then started our day, only to return in 5 minutes and get warmer clothes - it was freezing outside, yet sunny.
We walked to Xuhu lake, walked along its beautiful shores, bridges and causways.
Then we went for a walk on the ancient city wall of Nanjing, which reminded us a lot of the wall in Xian we saw last year.
Later we went and had a semi lunch near one of the city's rivers (Qinhuai river) and after that went through some local markets, which were nice.
We then returned to the hotel for a snack dinner at the Club, only to realize our room's a/c was not fixed, so the hotel upgraded us (again!) to a beautiful suite with 2 great a/c and a great view (especially from the bathroom, which is all enclosed in windows, so one can share himself with the world). :)
Later this evening we're thinking about taking a boat cruize in the river at night.
Tomorrow - it's Shanghai time!!!
For everyone in Israel and elsewhere celebrating the Sedder tonight - Happy Passover!!! :)
