Our last full day in Sydney and we spent the first half of it on the Internet, finalising our plans for the next leg of the trip in Southland, New Zealand We moved our flight to the North Island a day earlier, booked our remaining hotels and almost booked our car rental.
Dean was hoping to see the Convict Sydney exhibition at the Hyde Park Garrisons before a free walking tour at 2:30, but ran out of time. The walking tour took us from the Town Hall, through the CBD, Circular Quay and the Rocks. Strange concept making the tour free and relying on tips, but it was pretty good with loads of Sydneysider tips on how to see the sights on a budget, e.g. bridge walk $200 vs. climb the bridge pylon for $9. The tour guide still made $250+ on tips, so everyone was happy.
We got back to Deb's for a home-made fish and potatoes dinner - great tucker again!
We finished the night at the bar at the Mosman Hotel, meeting up with Dean's old school friend, Phil, who also happens to live in Mosman.
