So we left London on Tuesday evening and now eleven hours on a plane, about fifteen hours on buses, a two hour ferry ride and a half hour taxi ride later we arrived in our hostel on the island of Ko Samui.
Having eaten pretty much nothing except some homemade fairy cakes, marks and spencers flapjack and crisps we bought in a 7-11 we had no energy to do anything on all this travelling except sleep (not that it was a problem for us!) once arriving to the hostel the plan was to shower, have a nap and get some food.. However this all changed once we totally passed out on a bed for the first time since Monday night. Six hours later and we awoke to finally get out of the clothes we hadbeen living in for two days (how gross of us) to have a freezing cold shower and use a toilet that wouldn't function when toilet paper was put down it. Needless to say we got 'clean' which was very exciting to the both of us and went on our way to find some good food.
This did not happen! We were served cold chicken noodles and frozen sprite!!! The Mr Man (oh yeh that reminds me there really was a Mr Mann on our flight. Haha.) did not seem to understand us when we asked for another drink, finally he came back out with a fanta which had so many additives in it that it looked darker than an orange skittle (Sheens wanted to write opal fruit here.. get with the times!) In the restaurant where we were the only guests, there was a guy with a guitar who wanted us to do karaoke with him, however if you have ever heard us 'sing' you would realise it aint pretty! He started playing the tune to Rod Stewarts 'I am Sailing' and gave us a folder with the words in it, after about five minutes of us refusing to sing he went away leaving us in peace to eat our now reheated not-so-nice tasting traditional Thai food. Next time I think I'll go with the pizza and Sheens can stick with trying all this food which says its chicken but could in fact be dog or a cat or a human!
After dinner we went for a lovely stroll on the beach where we took off our flip flops and walked bare foot on the sand, it was at this point where Seems said 'I feel like I am on Home and Away' we got half way up the beach and it started to rain, so we made our way back to our room only to find a guest on our bed....a cockroach....it took us a good 5 minutes to trap the little b***** under a glass but eventually shifted it outside. Let's just hope he hasn't left us his spawn to look after!!
