He says: The southern coast of Turkey continues to surprise us with its beauty around every corner. Our day started by driving to a beach club near Old Town recommended to us by the rental car dude. The view from the top of the club was awesome, overlooking the Mediterranean. However, after taking the open air elevator down the the water our experience soured after one of the employees tried to jack up the price of sunscreen after realizing we were foreigners. Once we took a look around and realized we felt like extras in an episode of The Jersey Shore we managed to get our entry fee back and left. Our disappointment didn't last long, however, because after a short two minute drive we happened upon a huge abandoned sea side parking lot. We parked and looked down over the 200 foot cliff to see a few people swimming below. We hiked down and were warmly greeted. This was definitely more our scene. After cooling off in the crystal blue waters we hopped back in the car. I made a lot of wrong turns, and we ended up near the hilarious Mini City, a recently built park that has high budget miniature models of Turkish landmarks who's tagline is, "have you ever felt like a giant?" Obviously we had to go. I have to say it would pretty fun being a giant. After terrorizing the Mini City we drive along the coastline (it reminded us a lot of California's PCH) towards Kemer to take the Tahtali gondola up Antayla's tallest peak, above the tree line, to an altitude of 2365M. The view from atop the peak was insane (refer to photo). After eating dinner up top we rode down and continued our journey with a 45 minute drive to Olympos. Getting there was half the fun with many winding roads and mountain views. However, I did give the finger to grey haired man in another car after he was incessantly tailgating me on a two lane highway. I finally pulled to the side of the road and couldn't help myself. We reached Olympos at dusk and made our way to the famed beach. We highly recommend visiting Olympos if you can. The walk to the beach is about 1km and you are surrounded by ancient ruins and mountains. It's pretty awesome. We're planning on doing some more exploring today.
