He says: We're strolling around Dubrovnik today, and have both collectively lost any water our bodies were retaining due to the stifling heat. It has got to be over 100 degrees here, and while the city is beautiful, it's tough going trying not to collapse from exhaustion. As I write this, I'm realizing I sound 95-years-old, but even as a slightly overweight 30-year-old, it's been a challenge. I did buy a sweet captains hat that I'm wearing non-ironically around town in an effort to look and keep cool.
We just finished the 2-3km walk around the wall of the Old City. The views were stunning. Old houses, mixed with the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean make for perfect scenery. Shauna and panted around the wall like a couple of Rottweilers in need of a drink. We both drank 1.5L of water each and we felt like we had just finished a marathon. I think all those sausage rolls in Australia are starting to catch up with me.
Old Town is full of tourists, making for some great people watching. The highlight today was the string of mothers getting angry at their children for not smiling in photos. We witnessed this on three separate occasions. They started off calm and then gradually got louder and more angry - smile...smile....SMILE!
I think we are going to try and find a beach to cool off at before heading back to our ship.

Kim Sounds great...what about your new digs for the next couple of weeks - a step up in luxury I'm sure from the Aussie ship and is there a younger demographic? Xxoo
Laurie Pollock Can't believe that your trip is half over and that ours is coming up soon. I hope you get some relief from the heat. Even in PEI it has been terribly hot. Keep safe. Miss you both. XOXOXO
shauna It's definitely a step up and the demo is significantly younger - more of a mix! It's nice.
