We have arrived in Hong Kong, our halfway stopover and have 2 nights here.
After a night flight from London on Monday we arrived (as fresh as could be expected after sitting up all night on a plane) Tuesday morning but with the time difference it was afternoon here.
We were expecting warm sunny weather - well we got the warm but it was pouring with rain and visibility was low so on the trip from the airport the views were nil.
After a very short rest we hit the streets -oh boy it's busy here.
Very English, lots of double decker buses, they drive on the left and the electric plugs from the uk work fine.
Wandering round we found a place to eat which was very Chinese with the menu under the glass top on the table. Fortunately they had pictures too so we had a really good fast meal for about £25 including a couple of beers.
Then we hit the night market which is pictured this was very busy but interesting.
After a nights sleep we were up at 6.30 for breakfast so we could get to the meeting point for a city tour.
This was an excellent trip covering the main highlights of the city. We made our own way back using the famous Star Ferry to return to the mainland where we are staying. As usual we have walked miles.
