Left Las Vegas on Thursday to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, this gives the views of the canyon that you expect, with all the different colours in the rock. You can walk to the bottom from this side but its not recommended you do it in one day, but we met a couple while there who had done just that. Lots of people were walking down today, staying at the bottom overnight, either camping or in the Phantom Lodge and then walking back up tomorrow. The trail to the bottom is 7 miles long, we just walked the first 1.2 miles to Cedar Grove, but would like to come back and walk to the bottom in the future.
