Arrived in Beijing after 30 hours on the train. We seen the bogies (teehee) getting changed, as the tracks are different gauges. Arriving in the early morning sunshine and able to see the Great Wall was pretty special way to complete our epic journey by rail.
Had a final meal with our group buddies and went all out, which in Beijing means we spent a fiver each - including beers! Magic!
Next few days were spent walkinging the Great Wall (according to Chairman Mao 'your not a real Man until you've walked the Great Wall!'), tobagganing down from the Greta wall (possibly better than the wall itself haha) seeing Tiananmen Sq and Forbidden city and walked for bloody miles! Got some unrequired bargains in the markets - Bigyin was loving haggling and nearly bankrupt some sellers, I'm a 'handsome man' and Shanita has 'beautiful eyes'!
Fantastic city with real nice people, really changed my view of China.
Be well people,
Steve
