Last day of the trek. Up at 6.15 for the last 17km to get to Inle Lake. Last breakfast and then off we went my feet weren't too bad so plastered them up and put my wet soaking, muddy broken trainers back on can't wait to chuck them after this! Walking for 5 hours the views again will last a lifetime, so many stops to take pictures and videos. So at half 12, team #YOLOSWAG had reached their destination ready to get the boat to Inle Lake! My feet were in bits, made even worse as I was so excited to get my trainers off and bin them the plaster on my left foot with the massive blister got stuck to my sock so when ripping the sock off, yyyyeeeeee-OOOUUUCCCHHHH just split the blister and fluid again just poured out of it! Dickhead! Same applied on my other foot but didn't rip it off! Pictures with Yelin our tour guide who we got close with over the 3 days we got him singing as we were always singing and he was very shy but ended up singing in Burmese to us! He's a huge United fan and so intrigued on what it's like at Old Trafford said after his studies he can stay with me in England to which he was chuffed with! Legend of a guy. Never left Kalaw in his life never even been to Yangon or Mandalay. Had lunch then got on the boat to Inle Lake. Sense of relief when our rucksacks were on the boat when your life is in one item, if you have no idea where it is it is not a nice feeling. An hour on the boat and got to mainland Inle Lake. Found a random hostel called Four Sisters cheap as hell and not the best hostel up there with the worst to be fair that i have stayed in. Chilled out and had the best shower, shave etc ever after 3 days on the trek with the locals, checked all our Facebook etc after no wireless for a few days then got changed and headed into town for the market and to get some food. G got more Burmese as the days go on by getting more clothes. Got some food, Azem, Timon and Laura bumped into some people they had been traveling with before love when that stuff happens! They said it was a festival here but there was nothing at all. Ended up walking around me and Bas got some watches and we were drinking on the street I was off antibiotics now so was up for a session but Myanmar is not the place for it.... Until we walked past this kids party, yes kids party and the music was BOOMING! So random! We just started our own little dance next to the speakers and then gradually turned into a rave when I asked to put my phone on to which the Burmese locals agreed to so I was the DJ to all us westerners who were the only westerners in the area and all Burmese locals were just staring, taking pictures, laughing at us! So weird but funny this went on for about an hour and a half before it all shut down. Will never forget this rave! Walked back or stumbled back after drinking copious amounts of whiskey and coke, got some more to drink back at the hostel. Azem was off her head ended up puking in her room she was sharing with Laura which she was chuffed about! Few people gradually went to bed I was still up messaging as the wireless was ok here the time difference is a nightmare when wanting to talk to people back at home. I was walking back to the room when I find Timon sparked out on the table. I still had messages coming through so was replying when I heard a massive snap and a crash! Timon had fallen into a tree, snapped it clean and hit his head on a rock! I helped him up and cleaned his head up as blood was everywhere and then Timon repaid my efforts by puking on my right shoulder! Cheers pal! Swiftly added that vest to my laundry that would be ready for tomorrow! Eventful day! :)
