Hey all
Since leaving Popayan we stopped for a few nights in the San Agustin area which is where a number of pre-Colombian archealogical sites have been uncovered. Spent the first day exploring on horseback the ruins close to the town and then explored the main archealogical park on foot. The second day was spent driving around the ruins and waterfalls a little further from the town. All quite interesting and the scenery was amazing.
Two days of ruin exploring is enough for us so we then headed north to Bogota drving through more spectacular and incredibly hot landscape.
The last couple of days have been spent exploring Bogota with a few hours spent in the Gold Museum which houses most of the pre-Colombian artefacts from the whole country including the San Agustin area.
Bogota is a large sprawling city with an infamous reputation for danger. There does seem to be a few people around who have indulged in their fair share of Colombias most famous drug product but otherwise we feel more than safe and have been enjoying the great coffee at ease!
Maybe another night or so here before we head north.
Until next time.
