From there we kept heading up the east coast, stopping for a spot of fishing in Durrus, well to quote Shane he did a great job feeding the little fish, so maybe not exactly true fishing!!! They were very quick and kept eating his bait!!!! Still it was a lovely spot! Further up we hit Jervis Bay National Park, which is meant to have the whitest sand in the world....and to be fair we have seen some lovely beaches but this one would be right up there. Was a bit cool temperature wise, but that didn't stop Shane going in for a bit of a look....and he got his chance to check out how all the fish looked...seeing as the fishing hadn't gone so well!
That night we camped in an old gold mining settlement....but despite our best efforts we didn't manage to find anything of value so we continue to be poor backpackers! We did see a massive lizard walking towards a tent as we were leaving....if Phil had seen it the day before we might not have been staying there at all....thank goodness we aren't camping!
We then covered the last bit of coast below Sydney, hitting Kiama for lunch and a stroll, before heading inland to Clarence Falls where we camped up for the night. This worked out very well for us, as next to the BBQ pit someone else had already collected all the firewood! So it was an easy evening cooking dinner on the fire...we checked out the waterfalls the next morning before heading up towards the Blue Mountains.
