Another lazy day.....
Another red hot day in Sri Lanka and I'm having to stay covered up for most of it due to being the village idiot and my back still being sore from the previous day. A late start today and the penalty for this is not being able to get a sun bed round our usual pool. So off to the quiet pool and it's only quiet in the sense that it's got no music, which if I'm honest is lovely. We did get a spot but no lounger so it was a case of two lounger cushions on the grass. It was ok apart from the odd ant that came venturing up to see who'd pitched there tent on his plot of land. Not like our ants either, you could put a saddle on these b*****s.
As the day went on loungers became free and a kind lady next to us pointed out the first one over by the pool. So off I went to get my wife a sun bed. Now you remember me saying this was the quiet pool don't you and there was even a big sign with a drawing of fingers on lips and the word SHhhhhh!! On it. All eyes on the lobster pushing the squeekiest sun bed you've ever heard 30 metres to where my wife was.
A little later the pool boy brought me one of my own which i positioned under a palm tree for shelter, heaven.
When the clouds started to move in and take the heat out of the sun a little I joined Fiona in the pool until the sun started to set.
We had been in the pool about 30 mins when a truck pulls up to the gate beeping it's horn (err quiet pool!!!) then we noticed it was carrying an elephant in the back which we learned was for a couple getting married to ride.
When the novelty had warn off we went back to floating round the pool only getting out briefly to catch some of the wedding and get some photos of nelly in her wedding get up.
The evening was filled with a complimentary a la carte meal at the Waves restaurant and a bottle of wine which was beautiful and the service was excellent.
