Hello hello,
Well, let's see. I can't really remember where I left off. But here goes. I've been in Tasmania, home of the Tassie Devil, for a couple of days now.
Just came back from a tour of the rugged West coast of Tassie. Great mountains and beaches. A perfect combo.
If you look on the map, the west coast of Tassie is on the 40 latitude. There is no land mass to the west until Argentina. This means that the West is very, very WINDY.
Our group contained 8 people...very much a lot of fun.
3 English people, a french girl named Lucile (ohh Luce!! :)
and 2 Koreans & 1 JP. We became great friends, especially me & Luce & the Brits. We also had the best Aussie tour guide.
We climbed some very high mountains, this picture is of Cradle Mtn, 1600 m. Not even close to the highest mountains (everest 8000+ meters). But still very intense. If you've never hiked before, I will highly recommend it. THe views are amazing and well worth the effort. But mates, I was really TIRED! I got some great pics though.
I also went quad biking (RV'ing) in the massive sand dunes on the beach, with Lucile and a couple of English people. Great FUN. You'd think that you were in a desert, if it was not for the ocean view.
Oh, I also must mention the Aussie Barbeques on the lakes in the mountains with the guitars!!! Great times indeed.
Well, I'm back in Hobart today and just relaxing from the exhausting, but fun trip. I will explore the East coast with two Brits tomorrow. Wineglass Bay ranked the #3 beach in the world. Unfortunately, my other mates had to leave for different places. So bye bye Luce & David. We became really good friends.
Okay, I will try to add some pictures now.
See you in Wineglass Bay.
