Hello guys!
I just arrived in Sydney yesterday. It's only a 1.5hr flight from Hobart. It's a really big city, not so much in skyscrapers, but really spread out. Luckily, it has an excellent transit system. Buses, trains, monorails (like Disney World), and plenty of airport shuttles.
A bit off the subject, I apologize for the pics. I can't find a computer to upload them. Most computers here in the hostels or internet cafes are setup as an internet station. So I can't plug in my camera's USB. I'll keep my eye open for a good place. But no luck thusfar. So bear with me.
Well, on my first day in Sydney, I met a really cool Dutch girl. I went out to explore the city a bit with her yesterday. The harbour, Opera house, parks, & dinner. It was a fun day.
Today, however is a bit slow. This hostel I'm in is really lame & almost no people. So, I will have to explore the city on my own. (Vera, the Dutch girl, is running some errands).
I might just find a book to read in the beautiful parks here. I have a bit of a cold (from swimming in the cold waters, 50F, of Wineglass Bay), so a relaxing day sounds welcome too.
I haven't seen much of Sydney yet, but from what I can tell it's a great city to work & live, but not much for backpackers or me. Museums, opera, concerts, blah, blah. I'm packing my bags soon & heading out for Bondi beach, a suburb of Sydney with a great surf.
Okay. Take care everyone.
See you soon.
