First week done, only?39 more to go!

Hardly believe we?ve already survived a week and?already seen so much!

In a place called Paraty at the moment,?2 hours south of Ila Grande. (again the bus ride here was awful!!!) Both of us are burnt? (again!) after today, the sun is so hot! ouch! We?ve had some rain past few days, so as soon as we saw the sun today we got a little too exited! Talking about the rain...hmmm....well, we decided in Ila Grande to go on a trek up this massive mountain to reach this apparently ?well worth seeing?derelict prison! Got there 3 hours later, both feeling very faint (as we had forgotten to take any water with us, duh!).?To enter the village we had to be checked in by this security man although there was absolutely nothing there to see. Such a pointless trek!!! Both already feeling very low at the thought of the three hour trek we had back, to add to the fun, it decided to rain...not talking normal british rain, but proper tropical rain...we were drenched and filthy!!!

But determined to keep moral high, as soon as we returned to base, we decided to go out for a few too many drinks (it was a saturday night after all!) Met up with few of the locals, and made friends with a bunch of proper tree hugging hippies who made their living by playing recorders and whistles on the beach!

No one at home should be worried?that we had few beers and caprinhas (the most disgusting drink ever, so so strong! like white whisky!) because we were told ?There really is no where else in Brazil where you could walk down the street with 10,000 in your pocket and a massive camera and no one batting an eyelid!?so we were fine!!!

Left Ila Grande yesterday morning feeling hungover, and arrived in Paraty which is a real cute place. Full of cobbled streets,old buildings, nice beaches and good shops! (we decided to buy each other some rings as good luck presants!!! hehe! oh and some beads...need to get the?travelling look right!)

Men here are quite forward...lying on the beach this morning, we were offered drugs and sex and it was only 11am!

We will download some pictures again....feeling a bit sad at the moment, because we tried to download more of Ila Grande?last night only to lose all our Rio photos! So we?ve lost about 140 pictures in all. Who else but us ey! gutted!

Leaving Paraty tomorrow for Curitiba - hopefully will download some pictures from there.
