After the excitement of Queenstown, anything else would have a serious job to compete and poor Dunedin, probably amazing in its own right, did not live up to it. To be honest I also didn't want it to and did not do much in the way of exploring. I think I needed a place of rest and I chose Dunedin!
With the Christmas post date looming, (I know it is only November, but hey I needed to get the presents posted!) I concentrated my efforts on getting my shopping done and presents wrapped before chilling out by heading to the cinemas and enjoying 'A Christmas Carol'.
There is not much to tell about Dunedin. From what I saw, it would be a place that would need to grow on you. Some pretty historical buildings but also some run down parts. It is mainly a student city and apparently the students do run it. I was talking to someone on the bus who had wandered around the student area, and found burnt out cars, people nude in gardens and even students peeing on each other. Not my type of student!
Leaving Dunedin the next day, we stopped at what the Guniness Book of Records believes is the world's steepest road - Baldwin Street. Certainly steep, but I do doubt it is the steepest. Have they never been to Sheffield?
