Hi All,

Have made it to Brisbane via a fab few days with Mel in Surfers. Can't say we did anything too constructive! It rained a lot so we watched loads of chessy DVDs, ate too much, drank WAY too much and I even helped with hostel cleaning (Well I was staying for free it was the least I could do) I managed the washing up in two rooms before I had to go back to bed ha ha. Seriously though, was great to see some family and a familiar face so thank you Mel for looking after me!

I'm now in Brisbane and met ANOTHER cousin form Ireland yesterday which was ace too. I like Brisbane a lot, it's unbelievably hot but we're getting mad tropical storms EVERY day. LAst night we had hailstones, CRAZY lightening which I'm sure hit VERY close to the hostel I'm in and torrential rain. Very bizarre but I think the rain is needed here!

I went to Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin;s zoo) yesterday and all I can say is CRIKEY! It was awesome, fed an elephant, hid from the crocs and spent a fortune in the gift shop (I couldn't resist!) It was about a million times better than Beunos Airies Zoo but very sad to see all the memorials to Irwin.

I'm off to Hervey Bay later today and going on a self drive safari of Frser Island tomorrow, haven't met who I'll be with yet so could be interesting! Hope you are all well.
