Hi all,
Last few hous in Australia now and it's safe to say I've LOVED it. Have seen and done loads and met some really cool people. I think I'm ready for somewhere new now though as my budget has been DESTROYED over here! Looking forward to getting in to Asia now and spending a bit less!
Had a pretty chilled few days after Uluru. Travelled overnight up to Darwin and have been dodging tropical rainstorms since I got here! Darwin is very green and lush, not what I expected from the Northern Territory but obviously it's tropical so when it rains it REALLY rains!
Had an excellent trip yesterday to the Adelaide River to watch "Jumping crocs" We went out in this little boat (With pensioners only it seemed to me!) and watched these crazy people dangle bits of buffalo off a stick to make the crocs jump up and catch it! It was awesome!
We were "lucky" enough to see the biggest croc in the river who's 6m long and seriously cranky! We even saw him having a fight with a smaller croc who strayed into his area! It was very scary, you don't realise how powerful they are till they're really going at eachother! The cracks we heard from their teeth and heads sounded VERY painful! At one point he was under our boat whacking the bottom of it with his tail and making me think of all the crazy Ozzie films about tourists getting killed or eaten by crocs and sharks (And locals)! Quite exciting though!
Other than that I've wandered around Aboriginal Art Galleries and chilled out saving money for Asia. Bought a picture which caught my eye but other than that I've been very sensible!
Anyway, that's all from Australia, next stop Singapore and Thailand. Really looking forward to seeing the family and getting spoilt for a couple of weeks!! (Hint hint mum)
Hope you're all well,
Sel
