hey guys, still in Rio...we didn't move to the beach hostel....just stayed in the first one...figured that hot showers were worth it!! On thursday we went on a tour to the biggest slum in rio which was eye opening. it was really mad how they can live so close together and just build houses on top of each other. we also got to visit a school and see the kids...it really is so much different here than back at home. Went to cococabana beach yesterday...was really nice...lots of posers which was funny :) Although the waves are really big so you can't really swim without risking your life!! Last night we went to a street party in the 'hippy'part of rio and it was amazing!! there are bands and people dancing and drinking in the street...really fun! Moved to a hotel today...it's soo nice...met up with the group for the tour and they all seem cool which is good. there are about 20 of us and we're all from either the uk, ireland, oz and new zealand...no language barriers which is always a good thing!! a lot of the people on the group have been to buenos aires and santiago so just picking up some useful tips too :) so tomorrow the camping begins :( although it does seem like it's going to be an adventure!! i'm having nightmares about the trek on macchu picchu...i think it's gonna kill me off!! Anyway...probably won't get to email now...not sure if they have internet in the jungle?? so i will update whenever i get the chance!! Sel xx
