Today involved a circle tour of the peninsula south of Cape Town. There are actually two points at the south end of the peninsula (which is about 1 ½ hours south of Cape Town). An easy day just touring around the Langebaan area on the west coast. We first stopped at quite a nice golf course (green fees about $50). Next visited the West Coast Fossil Park, which is a very rich fossil find dating back about 5 million years. Left Franschoek and the wine district this morning, but not before one last wine tasting. However, this estate (Fairview) also featured cheeses. Wine was OK; cheese was very good. As we headed west we passed through some fairly extensive wheat fields. In some instances, wheat fields are adjacent to vineyards. A little cool and cloudy, but this was a day of wine tasting so who cared about the weather. Hard work but someone has to do it.
