Train to Paradise
Today was a definite fail! I woke up feeling absolutely awful but didn't regret the night out just wish I didn't have to pay with this god awful hangover! Anyway I woke up at 11am and to rush to check out on time as soon as I had done so and had my luggage safe in storage I sat down on the sofas and tried to think about some activities and sightseeing to do of which there were plenty options but I just could not bring myself to move. And if I was going to survive the day and even the next I was going to have to be proactive so I went back to reception and asked for their cheapest room (200 Bhat, about £4) so I could sleep off my hangover a little longer, success! It was heaven and I woke up about 5pm with an hour to spare feeling soo much better it was totally worth it! After dinner I got a taxi to the train station where the train was waiting and I boarded and found my cabin. Quite similar to my one in India although the beds were a lot more comfortable and I had a sink, oh and a very happy to please attendant! I was greeted by the funniest campest (and that's saying something) guy I had ever seen called Franck (he told me it was spelt that way) who gave me an orange juice and then sat down next me and went through my evening dinner menu, it was just his high pitched voice and
use of English that was funny and something you can't explain on paper you just had to be there (or if anyone's seen the hangover...the asian guy times 100!) We left Bangkok at 7:30pm with the cabin to myself but was later joined by the nicest thai man who was so polite he ate his food off a pile of towels because he refused to swap places with me so he could use the little table and he told me to let him know when I wanted to sleep and he'd get someone to make up my bed! My dinner on the train was pretty cool too, I ordered the veggie option and Franck appeared at 8pm with countless plates of thai veggie delights for me :-) Then it was definitely bed time and I went to sleep in my comfy train bed as I had to be up about 4am for the train arriving at my destination Chumporn by the coast were I'd get my boat to Koh Tao from.
