43kms will see us arrive in South Australia and our first stop being at the Quarantine Station, I have sorted out what I can and can't keep and put into a plastic bag for easy disposal, the officer has a good sense of humor and the task is pretty easy, he lets me keep my sweet potatoes and mushrooms.
As the weather is pretty warm we decide we will continue driving in the cool of the car air conditioning until we find a suitable spot, along the way come across a Clotheline spinning in the sun with clothes on it just along the road edge, someone idea of Art?? who know but it was an interesting site and a bit of fun.
We travel through Olary, Peterborough, Orroroo and into the town of Wilmington where we find the beautiful Hancock Lookout and our bush camp for the night. The view from the top of the 7km up hill drive is spectacular and we are looking onto the Eyre Penisular but we are still on the Adelaide side of SA
We can see Port Augusta, Whyalla and down the coastline in the distance and rolling green hills around us.
Another few campers come in for the night and we meet Sally and Andrew from NSW, lovely couple and we spend sunset with them enjoying great wine, great nibbles and great laughs.
The next morning we bid them farewell as they are heading to Cooper Pedy and we are heading off for Arno Bay.
Heading out of Whilmington we stop to check out the Giant Red Gum estimated to be in excess of 500 years
