Well after leaving Jabiru we crossed the Alligator River and headed towards Bark Hut where will stayed for 2 nights. My dad hasn't been well with him having a broken hip and hip replacement surgery so the past few days have been difficult and we are trying to stay in areas that I have a phone signal at, he is scheduled for surgery the 18th June.
Bark Hut has plenty of character in the pub and a nice caravan area but the bloody white cockatoos - squawked and flapped all day and pooped everytime a Whistling Kite took flight repositioning themselves in the trees above us. Once getting the all clear from his surgery we head a few kms down the road to Mary River Wilderness Park which was our destination but no phone access but limited wifi.
We spend the 3 days in this lovely peaceful park with miles of open space and on the Mary River but lots of crocs too. The wildlife, flora and walks are beautiful and we enjoy the downtime. The resort has a lovely reception area and Happy hour everyday at 5pm.
Humpty Doo is our next visit and decide once driving through was enough and so we head for Darwin - finding a Caravan Park proves a challenge as it is the V8 Supercars on the weekend and the start of school holidays here in Darwin with the schools being on holidays for a full month, anyway after being turned away from one place we end up at the Coolalinga CVP. Darwin here we are.
