Waited and waited and waited for a bus to St Paul de Vence. Finally, after about an hour (they are supposed to run every 20 mins) one arrived. The driver was very rude and charged double the fare we had paid 3 previous times. When I queried him, he said it was for the kids! Had a lovely stroll around the old town. Bought a poster for each of our bedrooms and a hedgehog toothpick holder that the girls helped select. Had lunch at a restaurant overlooking the hills and St Vence. Another bus ride back and this time just the normal charge BUT she didn't stop after we had pushed the stop button for the next stop! I had to shout out "stop, stop". Then some other, French people joined in and also asked her to stop. The next bus stop later we were on our way back to the hotel. Spent a lovely afternoon by the pool. Gorgeous! For dinner we discovered the town! Right under our noses, a 20 minute walk away was a lovely old town with cobblestoned lanes, full of little shops and a bakery that we would have died for that morning. Unfortunately most shops were closed but it was a lovely walk and we finished off with crepes for dinner.
