Another lovely day in the cottage. Drove down to Trebes to visit the Tourism Centre. On the way to the carpark asked Mario what type of lovely vintage car was parked there. He turned to have a look and drove into a pole. Luckily it turned out to be plastic. Our first plastic pole and we drove into it! The lady at the tourist office was very helpful (although when I asked about antique stores she said "no" but told me there was a nearby marmalade shop!). She told us about a town called LaGrasse, about 30 mins away, supposed to be one if the most beautiful towns in France. That sounded good so off we went. Lovely drive through the region. Surrounded by vineyards, mountains in the distance. Arrived safely in LaGrasse via our trusty map. It is a beautiful old town, very green, lovely old abbey, some little shops and restaurants. Toured the abbey, a little walk through the cemetery and then off to eat. Mario's back playing up a lot today. He is in a lot of pain. After our lunch, where Mario finally had his first cassoulet (it was delicious), we went down to the little bridge where we could access the river. The girls had a terrific time frolicking about, trying to catch the little fish and just having fun. Mario made a new friend, a small black cat who kept mewing and following him around. Another home made dinner and off for our last night at the cottage. Am getting pretty used to hearing the double peals of the bell at night now. Also the occasional tractor!
