From Léa:
We arrived in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal (by airplane), at 9:00 PM. We took a little shuttle bus to the small airport in the freezing Nepal weather. After going through immigration and customs, our guest house's driver picked us up in an old, beat up car. The drive to Elbrus Guest House was CRAZY!!! There were no seat belts in the car! We made it to our guest house around 10:00 PM. I collapsed into bed and fell asleep right away. Wen I got up this morning, I went up to our deck and spotted two big mountains trough the fog. One of them was high enough to have a little patch of snow at the summit!
First impressions... Very indian influenced, incense everywhere, many people speak english, and traffic is crazy. The architecture is funky, with roofs used as peaceful refuges and prayer flags everywhere. We bought ourwelves some down jackets and funky tuques since ite cold compared to Australia! We will head to Pokhara in a few days by bus
