Boats stranded in the Taupo bay due to low tide. People let them hang out till high hide comes in. The tides are very impressive and you could get stranded as seen here if not careful. Only way in and out of the Abel Tasman park (which the Taupo beach is apart of) by boat, kayak, or walk.
