hi guys!
sorry for the lack of updates but you know how it is... and jenny we've been having too much fun he he!
been so busy and keeping really fit with all the exercise, it's true about the amount of hills! although the range of gorgeous food on offer is just too tempting and ruining our good work! been tasting the local seafood- the clam chowder, tasty shrimp and crab. had mexican, chinese, ben and jerry's, self-made pancakes (not so good!) and eggs benedict which could have fed about three people, so we're gonna look great in our bikinis ha ha..not!
so far our greatest achievement was cycling across the golden gate bridge, we must have biked about 15 miles-how impressive! 2nd has to be the devouring of macy's cheesecake mmm...! 3rd was our cable car experience of having to get off and push it around a corner! there was too much weight on the other side-obviously not on ours!
done all the touristy stuff like alcatraz, pier 39, fishermans wharf, alamo square (the most photographed point in the city, with typical victorian houses), haight ashbury (the old hippy district) with great vintage clothes shops), chinatown- although we were disappointed with the lack of new year celebrations-apparently they're on in two weeks. the museum of modern art was really good too, had a great photography exhibition by Henry Wessel.
still trying to conquer our jet lag but it's going to be strange losing a day tomorrow on our way to fiji. hence why we haven't had any wild night outs, been to a few bars but no drunken behaviour so far!
we are loving the slow pace of the city, it's full of convertables with yuppies or gangsters blasting out hip hop (quite amusing), which reminds us... saw a group of breakdancers at the wharf, which were pretty impressive!
any ways we'll leave you with a taste of what we're doing for now and update you soon,
bye for now! xxx
