Most people in the group decided to go on a day trip today to the nearby national park island but they had to leave at 8am and we really wanted to sleep so we opted out of this trip! We woke up early today to the noise of cows mooing beneath us, chickens and dogs and the family getting up for work/school - school starts at 7am here! Today we left the hotel at 8am to go on a tour of The Killing Fields (Choeung Ek) and the S21 prison and genocide museum in the outskirts of Phnom Penh. It was a bit of a depressing morning really. Today we left Kratie and got back in the mini-bus for a seven hour journey to Phnom Penh (the capital of Cambodia). Today we got up eary again as we had a four hour journey ahead of us to Kratie, a small town along the Mekong river.
