At 9h00 we get picked up by Tata to leave on a half a day horseback riding tour. Our goal is Maunga Terevaka which is the island's highest point and only accessible on foot or horseback.
After about one and a half hour, we clip-clop on the flanks of the extinct volcano Maunga Terevaka. Not before Nils and Jan-Gert go for a wild ride on their horses though: the scene seems an exact copy of Brokeback Mountain picturing two cowboys riding off into the sunset! They both return with the fear in their eyes but manly as they are they do not give up and courageously continue their ride.
My horse Tiji is getting quite excited as well now and realizes the boys will not get any further exercise unless he takes the lead in some more galloping sessions. And that's exactly how it goes...
Our horseback riding trip comes to an end near the seven explorers where Tata arranges a ride back to Inaki Hui. We spend the rest of the afternoon wandering through the different souvenir shops and meet up at 16h00 to go snorkeling with the turtles. No luck today though as the water is too blurry and our 2 explorers Jan-Gert and Nils return to pass this bad news to the lazy girls that do not even bother to get into the water in this case!
After cooking a quick meal ourselves, we meat up in a Belgian restaurant 'Au bout du monde' where most of us enjoy a typical Belgian dessert : chocolate mousse and chocolate moulleux (the last one being a bit of a disappointment to me as I am used to the real moelleuxkes that Katrien makes :-) !).
