Today I had to pack up at the Hacienda and say so long to all my friends I met.sad day in galapagos! I didn't do much today except pack up for my Ferry To Santa Cruz and make sure everything was squared away at Sonja's Volunteer house. I took the ferry at 3:00 and took 2 hours to get there. Was a pain to bring my big suitcase but didn't think I would have enough room in my book bag for all my belongings. Thank god I didn't get seasick. I road in a small boat with maybe 15 other people; not a ferry at all. I wasn't sure if my luggage would even fit on there. Then I pretty much got soaking wet for 2 hours with down pour of salt water on me from the roof of the boat. Niceeee. This time of year the water is extremely choppy and in the afternoon, the wind is stronger. My ferry back is on Monday at 2:00 pm, but thinking about changing it to the 6:30 am one that way it's not as bad and I will have the full day to relax in San Cristobal. I checked out Espana Hotel since all the local recommended it and the hotel also includes breakfast, wifi in lobby and AC; oh how I miss you AC!!!! This place is luxury compared to the other places I've stayed at but the showers are still cold. I haven't taken a warm shower since Quito and that's a longggggg time ago. And no, this hotel doesn't have warm water either. Luckily they had rooms available. I don't think I've ever not booked a hotel ahead of time. Spontaneous! My friend Megan decided not to come as she was leaving on Monday to fly back to the US. Even though I'm traveling solo this whole trip, I've maybe had 3-4 days without solid company because of the volunteers and friends I've met; it's wonderful.
I went out to eat at The Rock cafe; very expensive here but good. Chicken quesadilla and creme brûlée for dessert. While I was there, I mapped out my activities for tomorrow and asked one of my guide friends in San Cristobal about other things I should make sure to see since I only have one full day of exploring. Early night for me as I have much to see tomorrow. Let's see how many items I can check off my bucket list. ¡Buenas noches!
