Up early this morning and squeezed into my hastily bought emergency remembrance day suit as I forgot to bring my going out suit from France. Into the car then off to pick up Beth and her Mum........ at 5.30 am! My Movember moustache was a cause for concern and even Lex the dog looked at me in a strange way but on to the railway station where we had to first catch the "coach of certain doom" to Milton Keynes due to the wrong sort of leaves on the line. Onwards to London and a quick trip on the tube later and we where in McDonalds having breakfast. After filling our rumbling tums it was then time for Pathfinder Dave to once again boldly head off in the wrong direction. Fortunately through luck and several wrong turns we found ourselves at Trafalgar Square and then through security to settle down ready for 11 o'clock. It's a deeply humbling experience being at the Cenotaph and I would urge you all to go at least once.
Ceremony over it was time for a bit of a walk round before heading into China Town for dinner. An all you can eat buffet whilst wearing an already too tight suit may have been a bad idea but the food was nice and no buttons burst! Home time and off to join the train. Public transport is always a great place to people watch. Someone should write a book about it. Anyway, all home safe, sound and worn out after having a great day :-)
