hey everyone!

I'm up in northern thailand... well northwest... technically in Sangkhlaburi... it's in Kanchanaburi province. i'm staying right on the lake. So beautiful up here. The first couple days i was here, we rented a houseboat and stayed out on the lake. There is an entire village and temple underneath the lake. When the water gets low enough, you can actually paddle boat through some of the windows in the temple. I will be here until January 14th and then i head back to Bangkok to catch my flight to Australia. I am working at a school here.. doing numerous things.. anything from formatting computers and tending the garden... to .. painting flash cards and teachign english. Most of the kids here are Mon, not Thai, and are refugees from Burma. Yes, we are very close to the border up here.. we can here bombs going off.

I think a few of us may head down to the beach for new years. Other than that, it should be a pretty mellow Christmas this year. Hope you all have a wonderful one.. wish i was home with my family.
