hey!
So this should be my last nihgt here in Chiang Mai. The 14 hour train ride was... well interesting. Luckily i met a few cool people to make it go by a little faster. In the morning (we got here about 10:30 or so) you could see all the country side we were traveling through... it was really pretty. It is very "jungle-y" and then all of a sudden there would be a train station (this included a guy standing out front waving a green or red flag depending if they had people to board or not) or little huts along the way... literally in the middle of nowhere. Lots of ox tied to a tree or steak in the ground by a rope since they don't have fences up. It's a fairly large area up here... still pretty busy city life so i'm hoping my next destination is a little less. Tomorrow i will be heading up to Pai to go on a trek up there. you are able to rent these Vespa type scooters here in town and then drive them up to Pai and drop them off... but they were out of them so I'll have to take a bus. It's probably better that way =) Up in Pai, i will be able to ride the elephants and maybe do the bamboo rafting. Today, i went to one of the national parks here that had 10 waterfalls. Some of the people i met on the train went as well. So i have uploaded some more pictures that i have up until now. Enjoy! 153
p.s. sorry about the photos... i have about 70 more to load from here in Chiang Mai but the internet connection isn't very strong and keeps kicking me off. i was finally able to add a few... but it is 1 in the morning and i'm sitting outside... and these mosquitos are eating me alive. i'll try to post them later in the day before i go to Pai =)
