Next stop on the journey is Pai we got a minibus to this town from Chaing Mai it took three and a half hours and thankfully I got the back seat to myself however that still didn't prepare me for the 762 curves in the road leading to the town judging by the look on the others faces I wasn't the only one feeling a little queasy especially as the back seat was located next to the rear wheel and I felt every bump in the road, I will never complain again about the state of the roads in Nottingham. Thank fully Sue is incredibly organised and had sorted out some accommodation or us for the first night and we were going to organise more hopefully something with a pool to relax by for a while, the first night was spent in a little hut with a tv fan and my own bathroom following some research I came up with a guesthouse with a pool in the centre that was shut! We ended up at one on the outskirts of the town over the bridge with a pool also these were little huts with hot running water for 250 Bhat a night (£5) brilliant! The bathroom was the best bit the worst bit was lying in bed at night listening to the critters running over the roof and the local ghekkos cockerels and other noisy creatures waking me at 5.30am. Oh and the locals who insisted on blasting out some crazy tunes at 6am?? Guess they were trying to get their own back on the noisy tourists! One of the days we hired bikes and went looking for a waterfall I love how the locals say 7km away but it's more like 77km away needless to say we never got there and ended up turning around and coming back but not before I get a vine wrapped around and embedded in my ankle ripping it off my leg was not one of my brightest ideas! Still sore now. It was nice to explore the local area and will definitely get a bicycle again.
