Today was a boring day checked out of hostel at midday and then me and the heaviest backpack made our way to the train station.
I booked my bag in to storage and had a wander around the markets and streets near to the station grabbing a bite to eat and making my way back to the station to get my bag grab some snacks and make my way onto the platform for the night train to Chang Mai so as the photo shows I'm on the train typing this and yesterday's blog staring out the window in the dark so not going to see much till tomorrow morning I don't think.
I was right the only entertainment I had all night was a group of Dutch tourists getting sloshed on whiskey and beer! The bunk was quite comfy and as trying to keep as cheap as chips I went top bunk, big mistake I was right next to the air conditioning! First night I've slept under a blanket since I got here.
I'm very grateful that before this trip I've attended some festivals because if I hadn't I'd probably never visit a toilet That wasn't in my own home again! Now the toilets/Hole in the floor of the train was no exception and it was shocking and smelt really really bad all night! And then turned into most of next day too as there must have been leaves on the line or something not quite sure why it got in FOUR HOURS late?
Anyway onto next hostel £5 a night cold shower and a fan in my room and its all to myself again and there was I thinking I'd spend most of this trip sharing a dorm.
My first point of call has had to be the pharmacy I appear after 38 years to have developed an allergy to mossie bites (any old wives tale deterrents gratefully received) and they are turning into large blisters filled with pus, I hope your not eating at this point?) now have creams tablets and sprays!! Hopefully they'll be gone soon I feel like I've got the plague ereuuurrgh.
I'm already sorted for my trekking I'm off tomorrow for three days so will update when I'm back as I'm don't think these jungles have wifi!
