It was a very long journey indeed to get back to Bangkok last night, it was actually made worse by the driver getting arrested for speeding after we'd crossed the border. 2 hours wait at the border and a police run in turned the 8 hour journey into a 12 hour journey. After the incident with the ants in the last guest house and being bitten to death (my body now looks like the Ebola virus has attacked) I took a couple days to stay in Chiang Rai and see the town. Chiang Rai is a surprisingly small town, even smaller than Chiang Mai which I didn't think was possible.
