Executive Summary - London & Wales
Saw: South Kensington, Chelsea & Hyde Park, Wales, English gardens, printed Welsh, the interior of the Kensington High Street Whole Foods store, Mongolian embassy, Russian visa office, St Peter's Cathedral, Tate Modern Gallery, Tower of London in the distance, Oxford Street and most importantly: Sarah, Steve, Jen, Christine, Sal, Sue, Bridget, Hamish
Did: Drove over the bridge to Wales, went for a long walk in Cardiff, waited in line at the Russian visa office, unsuccessfully scoured greater London for a place that will sell me a prepaid international express envelope, cried in the Russian visa office, walked a tightrope for 0.00036 seconds, hiked through Hyde Park to Paddington Station during a tube strike.
Ate/Drank: Sushi!!, Whole Foods salads with fresh vegetables!, gastropub cuisine, warm ale, some of the best restaurant food I've had since Italy.
Favourite part about London & Wales: Seeing friends and enjoying the vibe of the city without really doing anything touristy. Being relieved the Aussie dollar is 2:1 pounds instead of the previous 3:1 ratio!
Least favourite part about London & Wales: Need this be said? OK then, the Russian visa office and that whole process...
Life-altering revelation which has contributed to my search for universal truth: Crying may work for some women but it doesn't work for me. Or at least it doesn't work for me on Russians.
Current career thought: So, Whole Foods head office is in Austin TX...does it have to be Texas??
