Set sail again this morning. Arrived in Esna around eight. I woke up earlier this morning and spend some time on the deck which was just beautiful at that time of the morning. Went down for breakfast and had an omelet made specially by the omelet chef.
Around half past nine we took the horse and carriage to the temple at Esna. The temple here is the best preserved of all of the temples in Egypt because until recently it had been completely buried. It wasn't quite as busy here as it had been at the other sites which was nice. The carriage ride was interesting. The town was so busy with people and cars and horses all trying to use the same narrow streets.
After that it was back to the boat where we set sail for Kom Ombo. Bec and I went up to the deck for another swim. We had the afternoon to ourselves. At five thirty we arrived in Kom Ombo. The temple there was within walking distance of the dock and it was really nice just walking along. The sun was just going down and there was a nice if really hot breeze. The temple was packed with tourists, the first time, according to Mustfa that it had been like that since the revolution. The hieroglyphics at this temple were really clear and you could see load so detail just in the small carvings. A lot of the art was better here because it had been built in the time of the Greeks and Romans. It was fully dark by the time we were leaving which was a shame as I would have liked to have seen more of the temple during the day. Because my camera isn't all that great some of the photos came out blurry after dark. Fortunately Maureen and Rob have a great camera and they're going to sent us some of their photos. After that it was back to the boat for dinner. The boat set sail again for Aswan. We were docked before we went to bed.
