Ash came with me to the end of the MRT line as this was closer to the Subang airport, I then got a taxi to the airport from there. It was the locals airport so I was the only white person there. I definitely have found Malaysia to be the friendliest country. The people here are so helpful and don't want anything back. They just want to talk to you to and hear about your travels. Flight was easy only an hour then into another taxi to meet the girls. I'm getting good at this travelling by myself, Malaysia feels very safe. In Langkawi we stayed in a motel right on the beach front. We had two doubles so Sarah, Chelsea, Rachel and I were sharing.
Once I arrived the others had gone out but Sarah and Chelsea waited for me. We hired scooters and went to explore the island. We all loved driving the scooters, the roads are so quiet. We went to Seven Wells Waterfall. Climbed up hundreds of stairs to the top, then at the top there is loads of smooth rocks you can slide down. We had so much fun, spent a good few hours here.
We met the others in the evening and were supposed to have a BBQ on the beach. We decided to go for a few drinks at a nice place on the beach instead. Met some of the guys later and sat on the beach having some drinks with them. Sarah and I shared a bottle of red wine, I am so sophisticated these days :P.
When we woke up the next day Chelsea's eye was swollen, she didn't realise and asked me to have a look it gave me such a shock. Amusing for me and Sarah. She couldn't drive so she didn't feel like coming out so Sarah and I went for a day on our scooters. We visited Air Hangat Village, which was a hot spring then went onto Durian Perangin waterfall, this one was amazing!! People were swimming at the bottom of the waterfall.
Headed out for dinner again that evening went to a nice Mexican restaurant with the other travellers we had met, 3 Germans, 4 Brits and 1 Dutch, of course everyone had to speak English. I find it crazy that to communicate everyone has to speak English even when they are both from foreign countries.
Had a beach day the following day. The beach here is really nice and the sand is so white! Chels and Niko had a go on the Jet Ski's. I still felt a bit wary of them after falling off, so I just watched. Had a surprise that evening as Ash was flying into meet some travellers he met in KL, we met in the evening and he came out to dinner with everyone. Was nice for Sarah and Chels to meet him and just sit around chatting about our travels.
Off to Thailand to Koh Lipe next.
