After 3 flights we finally made it to Cambodia. We decided to book a last minute flight from Bangkok to Siem Reap as both didn't feel like the 10hour bus journey across the border!
Obtaining our visa at the airport was pretty straight forward and saved the hassle/scams at the border!
Once we arrived at our hotel (after getting ripped off by the taxi) we went for a 'short' nap, travelling is exhausting!
Visited Angkor Wat and surrounding temples the following day, we were driven around in a tuk tuk (the best way to get around). Temples were amazing! Ash ended up getting scammed by a boy who wanted money for his 'school' and gave him $10, the boy then ran off and gave the money to another man. It's quite sad really, they don't go to school as the make more money for their families on the streets/ begging.
Spent the rest of our time in Siem Reap wandering around the markets, pub street and enjoying Cambodian food! There is a lot of poverty in Siem Reap, so many children on the streets at night trying to sell bracelets. Many children were carrying babies with empty milk bottles asking for milk. (I had read you bought milk for them, then they just sold the milk back to the shop and had to give the money away to whoever they were working for, very sad situation).
We also enjoyed a fish pedicure (so weird) and met an American couple who were on their honeymoon!
Off to Phnom Penh on the night bus, which terrifies me!!
