Lovely drive up to kaikoura, well every drive is lovely in NZ! It took around 4hours from CC. Getting there at lunch time & sun was shining so we walked down to the pebble beach, wind was very strong though, couldn't go in the sea! Lovely little town & seafront but not much going on. Stunning view of the sea which is turquoise blue & the sureal looking mountains in the background! I got invited out by the kiwi bus driver (hush hush) with 2of my friends to go out on his local friends boat to catch crayfish! Was a great experience! Sun was setting, we learnt all about it, I caught a red cod with the rod was so chuffed!! Then we went back to the locals house to cook up the crayfish & some lamb steaks & had a bbq! His parents joined us, we had a few beers & it was a lovely real kiwi experience I was lucky to have! Next day we left at 830am heading to Nelson!
