So we have now been in Maroochydore for a week, and I managed to finally get some work on a farm, but it was only for a couple of hours on a passion fruit farm. It was paid hourly though so at least I got some pennies and it got me out of the hostel for a bit as it has been sending me a little crazy as there isn't much to do on your own when everyone else is at work. The passion fruit farm was ok work as all we had to do was walk up and down rows of passionfruits and pick up any good ones that had fallen on the floor. Although I only did this for a couple of hours my back still ended up aching a little from all the bending over and lifting I had to do, but at least I was giving myself a little work out. The farmer whose farm it was, was a very friendly guy, he let us take lots of passion fruit home with us and he even let us take some lemons off his lemon tree!
Josh works 5days a week and on Fridays he just works half the day, which is good as I then get to spend some more time with him. So once he finnished we went for a nice walk down the beach in the sunshine. It's so good to see some sun again! We also treated ourselves to some good fish and chips, although I must say there no way as good as the fish and chips from Hunky Doreys!
On saturday night we joined everyone in the hostels for drinks as one of the Irish guys (david) was leaving that weekend. We all ended up playing a game called 'f*** the banker'. Bit of a crazy game that gets you quite drunk. That night me and a girl from Taiwan who is also called Sarah got along really well and we were taking lots of pictures together!
The next morning me and Josh went to find somewhere that did a good English breakfast, and thankfully we managed to find a nice cafe in the Sunshine plaza.
I managed to get anouther day on a passion fruit farm this time for about 3-4 hours! I had to be up early in the morning, and oh my is it cold in the mornings! This farmer told me I was 'quite a hard worker for a Pomme', which is good, although my legs are aching quite a lot today!
