The food here is strange. Lunch is the main meal of the day, and today I think I ate something with eyes. Oh my. The communication with my host mom is improving. We talk alot more fluently now so that is good. We eat alot of meat here. Alot.
I forgot to mention in the previous post that my town is below from a mountain, and this moutain is called , La Mujer Muerta, que en español significa, The Dead Woman. And the mountain does look like a woman lying down with her hands folded over her stomach. haha
yesterday, we went to La Granja. It was neat. It was the summer home for the kings and queens of Spain, which is cool. Inside the palace, we couldnt take pictures, but it was really cool with all these chandeleiers they make here in Segovia, Spain. There are allll these statues around the garden, and Marleen and I took crazy pictures with them. It was fun. We were there from 11 am until 7 pm- such a long day, it was awful. We stuck around for these fountains, I willl have to tell you the story some time (ask when I get back, its too much to explain on here, haha)
Also, Francisco took us to a Labirinto, or a Labyrinth, or maze. A real live maze made of those tall hedges. I felt like I was in Harry Potter. We had to find our way back, it was crazy, scary but fun too!
Its very very cold here. I only brought 2 long sleeved shirts because its supposed to be in like the 90s all the time here this time of year. All the locals are saying how strange this weather is. Hopefully it turns around!
Today was the first day of class. Its difficult, and alot of work for being in Europe,, but oh well. Its still fun to be here doing all this.
This weekend I am going to Barcelona, and I am not really looking forward to it anymore. I kind of want to come home. I am not homesick, I am just scared. I had to do some walking around the city today by myself, and its safe and all, but still....just the thought that I am wtih out a phone and about 15 euros on me....its just alittle nervewreaking. Paying for the internet and fifty cents per minute on these phone calls... I am just alittle upset with all this Europe stuff. Oh well. Atleast I am gauaranteed 3 meals a day (cept when I am in Barcelona...I may have to starve this weekned, good thing I am not running!)
How many weeks left?
hasta luego
