Well I´ve started my budget expeditions trip. The truck ´Shanna´is great although shes full so its very cosy and she doesn´t have AC which is a shame, but the windows will have to make do. Our tour guide Julie is lovely, shes english and has been here for 2 years so knows her stuff and the driver Jon has been great, although we did get a puncture on our first drive about 2 hours after leaving Rio so him and the rest of the strong boys had to jack up the truck and change this huge damaged tyre. There are 30 of us on the tour, me and my tent buddy Steph from S.A have the best tent and everyone else is lovely. Still getting to know everyone and their names, but its fun.

We arrived in Paraty lastnight and set up camp. Chilled on the beach and in the sea, which is a warm as bath water and just got to know the peeps on the trip. It was so hot lastnight I just slept in my p.j´s with my sarong, no need for sleeping bag yet.

Today me and Steph are just exploring the old town here which is so cute and pretty, then this afternoon is going to be a lazy one on the beach.

We´re leaving tomorrow morning at 5am and heading for the Pantanal, so its a long day of driving, 12-14 hours, then camping wherever we can along the way.
